Very nice, but buggy

Skillpoints don't work for me. Tried several times in defferent browsers - skillpoints cannot be spent.

tjcarlos responds:

To spend skillpoints you must have enough of them and your skill level should high enough for certain skill. If all of this you have, then to upgrade/learn skill you must click not on whole image, but just on such buttons, upgrade /\ , downgrade \/

Thanks for playing. I'm glad that you like it)

Brilliant tutorial!

Thank you for bringing this one. That's a really great tutorial and the AS2toAS3 migration guide is really simple to understand and to get familiar with it.

Thanks again.

Depredation responds:

Glad it helped :).

Easy and buggy :(

A very good concept and nice ambient soundscape.

But... there's a common bag - the TabIndex is not disabled. So i can get the code on any level simply pressing Tab many times and waiting for the animation to stop.

And i cannot input the code in right lower corner of the screen dometimes. Don't know why.

Fix it, please. A very good conceprual game could suffer from tabindex.

magic585 responds:

Sorry, I had never heard of this "tabindex" before. Could you PM me telling me how to disable it?

Not competent yourself

I gave you 1, because you try to learn people how to make buttons and don't know yourself how to make it well.

Look at you :Next" button. Wy should i aim at the textlines? The button shouldn't dodge the mouse. You haven't specified the *hit* region for the button and you're want to learn other people. That's not right.

Better luck next time.

OlliNich responds:

Erm, yeah im 12.

OMG!

That is awesome!

Dynamic use of flash.filters.Glow? Am i right?

The game is great and the gamefile size is really small =) Great!

Maybe need to add some music. I love it much!

Komix responds:

yeah, well I use bitmapdata+ blur+color transform

Need improvement

First of all, you should add the preloader. The text "Wait ten minutes and then press play" caused me to laugh for some minutes -)

If you cannot make your own preloader (but I cannot believe it, cause this is an equation, that pupils study at school a the age of 10. Probably, you haven't get yourself well with actionscript or OOP-languages at all -just look through the AS dictionary, it is easy - trust me), you can download the default NG preloader.

=> 4 for humour (title screen made me laugh)

Graphics really need improvement, cause they are very simple. Walk animation is a good example of FBF, but it should be speeded up.

=> 2 for style
=> 2 for graphics

Sound... ok, there was sound (and it wasn't bad), but it'll be better to add some background music.

=> 3 for sound

There was some violence in the movie, so i cannot put "0" =)

=> 3 for violence

Interactivity... the gameplay is poor. It is like those old text quests but it has graphics. Maybe that's not bad, but, unfortunately, this isn't too interesting to play the game. Need improvement (maybe some inventory items? (No, the key and the gun were not inventory itemms, actually).
And it's boring to start the game from the beginning, if the hero is killed.

=> 2 for interactivity

Improve it and post to Newgrounds ;)

PVblaa responds:

You tell me, that pupils study how to make a preloader at the age of 10? You know, i'm living in Lithuania and there is no macromedia flash lessons!

Great.

It's well done.

The graphics are very simple, though. Needs improvement.
You should add private chat, more chatrooms and the analog of "/me" (used in mIRC for displaying users actions).

Gave it 5.

Just want to know - does it use socket server and what language did you use to create the server?

FIHP responds:

yes it uses sockets with a java server

Good work!

Yeah, that's a reaaly good work. Physics-physics-physic =) We have a programmer here =) Ad that's great. I like small games that a created by talented programmers.

By the way, you can add one more frame or one more scene for a preloader, but i don't think taht it is necessary. The game file is small. And it's great.

Still waiting for someone, who will create movies and games using only bitmapData (flash8) =)

With best wishes ;)

Swordsplay responds:

Thank you very much.

^.^

That's awesome ,man!

This is really AWESOME. I bet, you were working for weeks or even for months on this. And this game costs the creation time.

The only problem is with my "ring-finger" that lies on the "A" button =) It really hurts after the game %)

It would be great to add reconfigurable controls in the game ;)

With best wishes,
